Why did MTR build Fortress Hill station built with long escalators instead of lifting-up the station more near to the ground?
And why do Fortress Hill Station use Island Platform instead of those in CAB or WAC?

Because the next station Qurry Bay is in a deep position
Also the slope of the tunnel connecting two stations can't be too high, or the MTR trains can't consume enough power to pass through the tunnel
so that Fortress Hill need to build in a deeper position to connect Quarr Bay station

Isn't the next station of FOH be North Point?

有傳港島線地底月台因地底空間不足而多用了疊式側式月台。
因為起港島線時，港島區已發展完善。
北角本身係疊式側式月台，後來觀塘線延至北角先係島式。
