The Kingston Park & Ride seasonal service has been providing a quick and easy route in and out of Kingston town centre during Christmas and the January Sales since 1992. Figures show that the Park & Ride service in late 2008 and early 2009 reduced the number of car journeys in and out of Kingston by around 10,000 each week - helping to reduce town centre traffic congestion and improve air quality.
The Park and Ride service (Route K50) is operated by Transdev on behalf of London Buses and Kingston Council, in association with Chessington World of Adventures and Kingston First. The service is sponsored by The Bental Centre, The Rotunda, Bentalls, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.
During the last few years, the service has been mainly been operated by London United latterly Transdev
