Korean Airlines has finally received its first Boeing 787-9, it is also the first customer to receive the aircraft. The Boeing 787-9 is more advanced than the 787-8s. It has a longer range and more passenger and cargo capacity than the latter, which can hopefully help to raise the airline's profit.

Are you sure? Virgin Atlantic has been flying theirs to Hong Kong for a little while already.

Korean Air really did receive their first 787-9 a few days ago, but KE is not the launch customer of 787-9... Air New Zealand is the launch customer and they received their first 787-9 in 2014...

It's KE's first 787-9 for the batch, first 787-9 operated by South Korea operator
The "first" in title seems not meaning the launch of the model, only means the first delivery to KE and South Korea
